Courtney is a Ph.D. student at Graduate Theological Union. She worked as a Visiting Instructor of English and American Culture at Central China Normal University in Wuhan, Hubei, PRC for two years. Currently she is teaching a course, Women in Chinese Islam, at the GTU with the Newhall Grant.

WSR Cafe series presents: Dr. Ghazala Anwar “Khadija: A Model Worthy of Emulation". 

Please join us on April 4th at 10:30am on the 1st floor of the GTU Le Conte Building (2565 Le Conte Ave.)

This talk is based on research on the portrayal of Khadija, Prophet Muhammad's first wife in hagiographies and biographies of the Prophet written by Muslims and non-Muslims as well as modern hagiographies of Khadija herself. (2 units)

Please Join WSR for Voices from the Soul: Poetry Jam/Open Mike Night Tues. February 12th 6:30-8 pm• PSR Mudd 100.

Opening with a piece from the Vagina Monologues. Come, bring a piece of poetry or a song and let your voice be heard.

WSR certificate students get priority & recieve 1 unit for performing a piece. Please bring acoustic instruments only.

2013 Annual Women & Religion Student Conference

Women's Studies in Religion host its 2nd Annual Student Conference on Women and Religion on March 1, 2013.

The Conference will take place in the Tucson Room at the Church Divinity School of the Pacific 2451 Ridge Road Berkeley.

Time: 12:30pm-6pm. Reception following Conference. (2 units for whole conference, 1 unit for part)
