Faculty and Staff- if you have a library card, you can use your barcode number. If not, we can create a number for you.

GTU Library updated our library account software to allow two name fields. The preferred name field allows your chosen name to show on your library account when you sign in and on automated messages and notices the library's software sends. Let us know if you have any questions.
A PIN is just the passcode you will create to login to the library resources.
To set it up the first time, enter your barcode (or Student ID). Leave the PIN field blank & Click Submit.
Two PIN fields will display. This is your opportunity to create an 8-12 alpha-numeric character PIN number.
It must contain both alpha and numeric characters (for example, 2021berkeley)
Forgot your PIN? Use the link to be sent a retrieval email.
To set up or renew your UC-Berkeley library card:
GTU students, faculty, staff, and visiting scholars can request to set-up new library account or renew existing one via email in order to check out physical items from the UC-Berkeley libraries. Due to limited in-person hours, remote set-up of your UC Berkeley Library borrowing privileges is preferred.
Email the privileges desk - privdesk@library.berkeley.edu - with the following information:
- full legal name (including middle name if you have one),
- preferred name if different,
- mailing address,
- email,
- telephone number,
- proof of current enrollment or employment at GTU.
GTU Students - a screen shot of your current class schedule from Moodle or your registration system will work.
Faculty/staff - a letter from your department/school verifying your current appointment or a screen shot of your GTU employee payroll portal showing your name and title/appointment.
GTU officially approved Visiting Scholars- please provide the letter from the Dean with your status and dates
If you are renewing an existing account, please include your current library card number.
Pick-up your borrowing card at the Privileges Desk inside of Doe Library at the UC-Berkeley campus. Please note the Privileges Desk's hours.
Please note: this service is not available to community patrons, alumni, ATLA reciprocal borrowers, or other categories of cardholders, but borrowing cards can be purchased from UC-Berkeley directly also by emailing the Privileges Desk.
