Not at this time, but if you have a community patron library card, alumni card, or any type of GTU library card, you are welcome to come in with proof of vaccination. If you don't have a card, chat us, we can help get you started with an account.
Not for visitors, our study rooms can only be reserved for GTU students, faculty and staff. We do have group tables in the library if you want to meet with someone. The oculus table inside the circular reference collection shelves is a great place to hold a meeting. Food and drinks are allowed in the library (see policy).

Reference librarians are working hybrid schedules and will answer questions via the chat box (on this page) or library@gtu.edu. Librarians are not on duty for all the hours the building is open.
Persons interested in using the archives do not need a library card, but will need an appointment. Reach out to archives@gtu.edu directly to set up a visit.

Yes, we have many types of patron cards available including for alumni and community patrons. See the borrowing section below for details and prices. Books can be picked up in Berkeley or San Anselmo.
Yes! Printing is currently 5 cents a page, cash only. The library has a top-down scanner (to create PDFs). This machine is great for scanning books. Please bring a flash drive to save images from the scanner. The library has a xerox copy machine. Copies are 5 cents a page, cash only. The xerox machine will also scan and send to email for free.
We do not have a parking lot in Berkeley, but there is free 2-hour parking during the week on many of the streets around the library.
Fully vaccinated means two shots of the Pfizer or Moderna Coronavirus vaccine, or a single shot of the Johnson and Johnson vaccine.
You do not have to bring your original CDC card, a photo of it, or the California SMART health digital card is also acceptable.
Borrow items from our library with your $30-per-year library card or order items via Interlibrary Loan services through your local public library.
We are located one block north of the UC-Berkeley campus, at 2400 Ridge Road.

Electronic Resources for Alums
The GTU is pleased to offer the Atla Religion Database with AtlaSerials to all GTU Member School Alumni. Please complete this form to request login credentials for these resources. Once you have received your username and password, follow this link to login.
This password changes once per year in late September, and we will email you and let you know the new password. If you don't have the current password (or are now using a different email address), just fill out the form again and we will send it along!
Please note: you must have graduated from a degree program such as: MDiv, MA, DMin, MTS, ThD, PhD, etc... this database is not accessible to non-degree students or auditors.
Visiting Scholars Program
The library welcomes visiting scholars from around the world who come to the GTU to study, teach, and write. Visiting scholars are approved by the dean’s office's of each member school and receive a library card number and access to online library collections.
