Mercy: The Heart of Peace, An Interfaith Meeting of Prayer for Peace

Hosted by the Archdiocese of Oakland, Mercy: the Heart of Peace will embody the message that peace lies at the heart of religion, and that believers are called to be peacemakers and instruments of mercy. GTU President Riess Potterveld will be among those offering public prayers at the event, which features participants representing multiple faith traditions.

Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir hosts free concert and day of workshops

In keeping with the tradition of the past 10 years, the Oakland Interfaith Gospel Choir will host their biennial traditional all day Music Workshops, this year featuring “Singing Your Blues” a workshop led by Faye Carol, at the Islamic Cultural Center in Oakland. Registration is available at www.oigc.org. Workshop sessions led by seasoned faculty are scheduled from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM.

The Annual Spring Free Concert will follow the workshops at 7:00 PM.
