This event, moderated by Dr. Deidre Green, will feature presentations by Adam S. Miller, Rosalynde Frandsen Welch, and Joseph M. Spencer. This will be a hybrid event with in-person attendees in the Dinner Board Room at 2400 Ridge Road and online attendees on Zoom.

Join the GTU community for this opportunity to learn about and then visit a Mormon temple. The Oakland Temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is open to the public for the first time in over half a century. Recently renovated, the temple, in which sacred ordinances are performed, will be open to the public until May 31st.

In conjunction with Berkeley Rep's presentation of Tony Kushner's groundbreaking play Angels in America, the GTU is cohosting "Angelology: A Live Panel on Millenarianism" on Monday, May 14 at 6:30pm in Berkeley Rep’s Peet’s Theatre. The panel will explore the questions “Why do angels appear to people? What forecasts the end of the world?” through Jewish and Mormon lenses.
