The GTU Center for Dharma Studies and Journal of Dharma Studies invite you to attend our conference on "Posthumanism & the Politics of Sentience," on the theory and practice of posthumanism and new materialism. Critical posthumanism seeks to decenter anthropocentrism, androcentrism, racism, supremacies, and the denial of the intrinsic right of survival for many human communities and the natural world.

Drop in to watch a 30 minute documentary to celebrate the freedom to read during Banned Books Week. 

TO BE DESTROYED follows author Dave Eggers as he meets with students and teachers in the Rapid City, SD school district where his novel, The Circle, was pulled from shelves along with works by Alison Bechdel, Stephen Chbosky, Bernardine Evaristo, and Imbolo Mbue. Through footage of heated school board meetings, community rallies and interviews with locals, we learn how these books were designated "to be destroyed."
