Join American Baptist Seminary of the West (ABSW) and the GTU for "With Liberty and Justice for All: Preparing Moral leaders for Action," a lecture by Rev. Dr. William Barber II. This event is part of the GTU's Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Peace Initiative, and will be held at First Church of Christ, Scientist (2619 Dwight Way, Berkeley), across the street from ABSW. The event will also be livestreamed on the GTU's YouTube page.

Border Crossing and Bridge Building

Please join us for a panel discussion on immigration sponsored by the American Baptist Seminary of the West (ABSW). Panelists include Rev. Pedro P Morataya, Rev. Dr. Rogelio Ovalle, and Rev. Dr. Allison Tanner. Rev. Dr. Horacio DeValle, coordinator of the ABSW Latinx Initiative, will facilitate the discussion.

"Understanding Generational Differences: Values and Views" with Dr. Jolene Erlacher at ABSW

Stakeholders in higher education today represent five generations. As we consider the valuable legacy of our schools and seek to develop students poised to thrive in our world today, we must understand the cultural trends and generational values that intersect, and often collide, on our campuses. This session will present important perspectives and strategies needed to navigate these trends.

West Coast Memorial Service for Dr. David Bartlett

The GTU community is invited to a West Coast Memorial Service for Dr. David Bartlett at Lakeshore Avenue Baptist Church (3534 Lakeshore Avenue, Oakland) on Saturday, January 27, at 2:00. A renowned scholar and pastor, Dr. Bartlett was the author of more than 20 books, and is perhaps best known for his long tenure as professor of preaching and dean at the Yale Divinity School and coeditor of the Feasting on the Word commentary series. Inauguration of ABSW's New President

Join the American Baptist Seminary of the West and the entire GTU community as ABSW celebrates the inauguration of its new president, Dr. James E. Brenneman. The ceremony will take place at the First Church of Christ, Scientist, 2619 Dwight Way, Berkeley, CA (across the street from ABSW). A Cry for Justice in Hymnody: Featuring the Hymns of Dan Damon

Join us for an evening rich in music and fellowship, featuring the hymns of Dan Damon, FHS, an internationally published writer of hymn texts and tunes. This event is cosponsored by the GTU's Center for the Arts & Religion, ABSW, and the hymn society in the US and Canada.
