Sylvia Ludins Collection

The works of Sylvia Ludins (1909-1965), an artist who last exhibited 70 years ago,  are on display in the library of the Graduate Theological Union. The exhibit will run through Sept 15th, 2016.

Arabic: Language of the Quran, An Exhibit

From January 16th through March 20th, the San Francisco Library and the Islamic Art Exhibit will present Arabic: Language of the Quran. This exhibit and related programs are supported by many institutions, including GTU's Center for Islamic Studies.

Opening Reception - Birds of Longing

2011 CARE grant recipient Laurie Wohl interweaves Muslim, Jewish and Christian poetry and spiritual texts from the period of the Convivencia in Spain (eighth through fifteenth centuries) with contemporary Middle Eastern poets, particularly Palestinian and Israeli. She presents the common themes and striking parallels between Arabic and Hebrew texts—similarly rich in poetry of spiritual love, extensive poetry of exile, and poetry of nostalgia for Andalusia.
